Should hetero people be discriminated against? Discrimination isn't right, but it happens. Just do your part to lead an open, loving life.

It's as good as any really. Gays should not be hated or descriminated against- these judgemental people are hypocrites.
This is the power that fanatical religion can have over supposedly free democratic society where recently what you did was okay as long as it didn't hurt someone else.
If a person believes that it "hurts God" or is "an abomination" as it is referred to by christians, than this same person should remember that if it is "wrong" it is not the place of the christian to judge- ever. Whether they believe it's right or wrong.
"Judge not that ye be not judged." Matthew 7:1 is conveniently forgotten by dangerous fanatics who forget that Jesus "ate with publicans and sinners" Matthew 9:10-13. What you see today are mostly pharisitical christians (not to be confused with "parasitical") who are more interested in finding fault in others because someone's sexual orientation is different. These are ignorant hypocrites. They are more like angry mobs than religious followers.
John 8:3-11 "Jesus said: "'Let he who is without sin case the first stone.'" in essence is how Jesus dealt with Pharisitical hypocrites and if you want to deal with things under the "conditions" of christian society then these quotes are some of the tools/weapons you can use.
Otherwise I would tell your basic violent fanatic that modern christianity has little to do with Jesus Christ and almost everything to do with political and fanatical power-plays. Gays are presently a target in the US so as to keep the masses from answering more important questions of state- such as why Americans hate so many other peoples and cultures in the world (e.g.: bigotry, racial and class prejudice). And why they continue to make war on them (i.e.: Iraq which had nothing to do with 9-11) murdering them and stealing their resources/self-government for the almighty dollar.
With these kinds of questions to answer for, Americans would do well to get their priorities straight and leave gays alone. Keeping their noses out of other people's crotches would be a great start.

Nobody should be discriminated against. On the other hand, a lot of people are asking for special treatment these days. Should marriage be redefined so that two men can marry? I personally don't think so, but that doesn't mean I'm discriminating against gays.
In response to what you say about God growing to look at things in a new light... What is your definition of God? The God of Christianity is an unchanging God. He cannot learn because He knows everything. He cannot change because He is perfect, and perfection cannot be improved upon. He cannot lie because He is holy, and for Him to contradict Himself mean He either lied of changed His mind. Hmm.
Please understand that I don't view myself as better than someone who is gay. I'm a sinner, too, and heterosexual sin is condemned in the Bible right along with homosexual sin. All of humanity is separated from God by sin, whether it be sexual or any other kind. We are all under a curse because of our own repetitive choice to sin against God's moral laws, and we know full well we are wrong to do so, and we deserve eternal punishment for our sins. That's why Jesus Christ, the sinless lamb of God went to the cross to pay the penalty for those who would believe in Him. The good news is that if we believe that Jesus died for our sins, and that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved, proving our salvation by turning from our sins and turning to God in love and appreciation for what He has done.

Love the Sinner and hate the Sin. Okay, first off love your Uncle because he is a child of God. Homosexuality is punishable by God and God only. The judgement that is given to your Uncle is not right and those people who condemn him will feel God's wrath upon their shoulders.
Now, christians or others who believe in God must share the love and the word with those people who are not following God.
Take a look at Romans Chapter 2. That chapter talks about judgement and what will happen to those people who judhe others. It is not a pretty sight and believe me I would not want to be in that place of wrath.
Listen here, in the past I have had an issue with homosexuality and at one point I did hate. But, you know as being a christian for 2 years I know better. I have asked for forgiveness and I know God has given that to me.
I hope that this helps and I hope that you can forgive those who condemn your Uncle.

Homosexual people should not be discrimminated against.
Not everyone believes in god and its unfair [no offense to you or any other religon/religious people] that some fable can control daily life for an individual.
These so called activists that work for "God Hates Fags" are so unholy its not even funny. They have two and three year olds wearing these shirts and holding these little picket signs that say "god put me on earth to hate you".
DUH! Its terrible!
It doesnt matter if the majority thinks its wrong, people should still be allowed to love freely.
A man can love a man, a woman can love a woman, a woman can love a woman or a man, and a man can love a man or a woman.
It is no business of their neighbor, apartment owner, homeowner, realestate agent, boss, employee, client, grocery bagger, or anyone else.
"FREEDOM: [FREE]DOM! BE FREE! TAKE THE [DOM]ANCE OUT OF FREEDOM!" - KTAG [Kentucky Teen Activist Group] Unnoficial but either way I'm a part of it.
[also...]
If you want to get scientific we're all the same sex.
We all start out as females and then the ovaries drop to become the testees, the vagina extroverts into the penis, ect.
So, when you go cuddle with your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife/afair partner remember that you are cuddiling just as gay as the man who lays in his bed with another man.

Homosexuality is a sin. There is a saying, Love the sinner hate the sin. You can accept someone who is gay without condoning what they do. That last question. No. God is all-knowing and knew what was going to happen and knows what will happen tommorrow. I am not going to lecture you/quote all the places that God strictly forbids homosexuality (people's questions on these answers pages cover that) but can tell you that God knows what is wrong and does not "grow" He is the same as he was in the beginning, and will be the same in the end. God Bless.

First things first, No, they should not be discriminated against because they are not gays, they are people. Puting them into a secluded group is how and why there is discrimination.
And NO, God would not have changed his mind on his rules. You see, he is here everyday, seeing everyones thoughts and what everyone does. So he knows what the world is doing. But for the world to judge these people is wrong also because the bible says " Judge not lest ye be judged". This means that he does the judging not us. We have no right to try and fill his shoes. Everyone will know what he thinks in the end, What we need to do is live life to it's fullest and keep on the straight and narrow. Watch yourself, and maybe give your advice to others but DO NOT JUDGE!!!

It ISN'T his choice, which is why the "God says it's wrong" meme doesn't work. God made him gay! Your uncle is not harming anyone by falling in love with another man. It isn't a sin, and no one should discriminate against him.
And to respond to an earlier answerer: Most pedophiles don't have a sexual orientation, and those who do are mostly straight men (up to, if not exceeding 90%). The least likely person to molest a child is a lesbian.

Your right, it is your uncle's choice and even if he's gay you still love him. If you've seen the movie Saved you'd see how a girl with a gay boyfriend, who had gotten pregnant by him, while trying to ungayify him at first. Learned to except who he his and help the others around her do the same, even God. The way I think people treat them is really wrong. You have a choice to live your life the way you want to, no strings attatched. So right on to your uncle, and another one for you for supporting him.

in an answer to chark finn:
Emotions are meaningless. You cant decide what you are, or what you are to believe based on mere emotions, let alone right and wrong. They change with the ebb and flow of life. This is plainly obvious in history and many aspects of life(halocause, jonestown, salemwitch trials). There must be a standard for morality. If you choose to pick christianity, judism, islam, or many prominent religions you choose the acknowledgment that homosexuality is sin. while emotionalism sounds nice (well at least until you feel depressed) its not sound in any way

First of all, you need to realize that God does not NEED to "grow" He is GOD. And just because we, as humans, have come to tolerate, and even accept homosexuality, does not mean God has. Sin is sin. Make no mistake, God hates the sin of homosexuality, but He still loves the sinner. He will save those who will ask, and change their lives once He does. Satan is the one who has twisted the mind of people into believing that sin isn't really all that bad, but the fact remains, that it is. We need to look at sin the way God does, read our Bibles, and educate ourselves in the Word of God, and it is only then that we will come to realize how and why God deals with sin. Best wishes, my prayers are with you.
