I actualy have 2 Pugs. The female is good but the male, Oscar, just likes to pee. I don't think he's doing it to be bad, he just doesn't get it. We've tried eliminating the smell with products, catching him in the act, and everything else a normal pet owner would try. He knows it's wrong when he's doing it but it's almost like he forgets right after he's done. What has worked for you?

First of all, NEUTER. Helps tremendously. Then use Nature's Miracle Odor/Stain remover (available at Pet Smart, etc.) to get the smells out so he won't be enticed. You can then try the belly band or a crate to work on the housebreaking issue. Best of luck!

Actually dogs are very smart and sometimes they act out because they lack attention or something. Pugs can be lazy also. Get a newspaper and every time he does it smack the newspaper in front him, not the dog, get the dogs attention and show him what hes done, put his nose close to the pee but not directly on it and put him outside and if you can leave him there for a long while. Next time do the same thing to him, he'll finally get the point and dogs hate that newspaper smacking noise.

first off....get the carpet and furniture steam cleaned. then spray one of those pepper type no go sprays on it that you get at the pet store.

If that doesn't work try having him fixed. He may just think he is marking his territory...that happened with my 4 yr. old poodle and he would pee on things even if they had been cleaned with Clorox...having him fixed stopped it almost immediately.

I'm not sure about dogs, but I had a cat do that (she was older though) and it turns out she had Kidney Disease and her kidney's were starting to fail. So if your dog is a bit older, you may want to get him checked out.

When you are not home, kennel/crate him. When you are home make sure you get him out very regular or get a dog door...they ROCK!

well... put him outside... and stay there.. and make sure you watch him more often... and uh... tell the dog... pee here not there.. eventually, he will learn... you have to keep trying over and over... and it will go away.. but it will take a long time.. it will go away......
