I can think of a million things that the government could spend money on that would be a FAR better use of tax dollars, simply b/c these other options wouldn't promote criminal entry into the U.S.

90 miles. Do you have any idea how much a 1/10 mile bridge costs? It would be an engineering feat worthy of a deity! You can't make it suspension for even 1 mile: you'll need to build foundation IN THE OCEAN. I guess this isn't a serious question. Are they going to drive their 1950s cars across, or just make the walk? Plus the whole issue of amnesty, and of course it would be a tacit agreement that all Cubans who want it get it. What a total disaster, and completely ludicrous on so many levels.

Build a bridge? Don't be ridiculous.

Cubans haven't been able to import cars since the 1960s, so hardly any of them drive. We should build a fleet of luxury ferries to transport them here in air conditioned comfort, on velvet seats with buxom, ex-Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders as hostesses. There should be unlimited complimentary food and drink, with bilingual menus.

Where did you ever come up with a wacky, impractical idea like building a bridge?

No. First of Cuba is still running under the Communist rule of Castro. Second it isn't the USA responsability to build bridges so more immigrants can move to our country.Third if they wanna get in boat or tunnel the Mexicans have profected it.

NO, rather put more sharks in the area to deter them from "swimming over". If they don't like their dictator, then they should grow some kahonies and take their government back. Just like the mexicans should do and all other repressed countries. Just look at the america civil war. South tried, and lost, but they had the guts to try it.

No, we should go over there, blow Castro to Hell, and help them set up a free government so the poor Cuban people stuck in Florida and NYC can go back to the homeland that means so much to them.

Only if you pledge to keep and support all that come over it for the rest of their lives on your property. LOL a bridge that's funny.

Pure realistic response:
No, the idea is out of the question.

First, all the questions. Whos going to fund this? How do we build it? How to we upkeep it? Who controls it? What benifit does it serve America?

Its just not feasable.

No, that would be saying that we allow illegal immigration. I have more respect for them though because they actually risk their lives and work really hard in order to a productive member of society and they attempt to learn English and become a citizen unlike Mexicans who cross our borders, using our services, and acting like we have an obligation to treat them like citizens and learn spanish just for them!

No, give the Coast Guard the responsibility for bringing them over. They are always in the area, so it wouldn't be much out of the way.
