every one has their own idea, and if you read carefully, some do agree, yet word it completely different.
if you pick up a dictionary you would see they are saying the same thing yet worded different.
also, some view it different because you have;
A. Non-Christians giving answers for 2 points
B. different religions, such as Catholic, Baptist, Jehovah witness, and so on, their for you will get a different answer, because the teaching's are different.
C. you will get a different answer from one who is a New Christian, mid, and older Christian.
when you direct a question to a Christian, you have to specify which religion you want to answer, or ask they provide their religion while answering, this will make a huge difference.

Because people get understanding from different interpretations of the Bible but some do not receive this understanding from the Holy Spirit.
Look at the explosion of versions from the Bible are coming out today. There is at least 50 that was listed on a website, and it keeps growing. There now is a Bible called "Jesus loves porn stars," and the "100-minute Bible." The latter is condensed for those who "don't have time."
Some Scriptures people bend or decipher different to benefit the lifestyle they want to keep.
Examples:
Some Episcopalians believe in homosexuals for leaders. Romans 1:18-32 condemn homosexuality and gives reason WHY some in the church accept it now.
Catholics believe in Hail Mary and statues of Mary. Exodus 20:4 and 1 Timothy 2:5 debunk this belief.
Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe on the Trinity. 1 John 5:7, John 1:1, 14, and John 10:30 prove this theory wrong, also.
Jesus warned that even the elect will be deceived in the last days.
what scares me is this will probably get worse.

Scriptures have always been subject to personal interpretation. This can actually be part of their appeal. A specific scripture might serve to inspire or comfort one person in one way, while the same scripture might inspire or comfort someone in a completely different way. You should never lean on someone else to "tell" you what it means. Read it and decide for yourself. God gave us brains, he must have wanted us to think for ourselves.
Just have to add: Look at the different answers you've received just to this one question. Any wonder why there are so many interpretations to scripture?

Imagine four people watching a street-drama team perform a play. Depending on where each person stands, each one may notice different things in the performance, and may miss details seen by another.
It can be the same way in a scripture discussion. Four different people may read the same scripture, and based on their own previous teachings and life's experiences, may have something different "leap out" at them. This is human nature. We do not have "eyes" that see every side of every issue. We balance each other, or correct each other, with the expression of our different perspectives.

Because for the past several generations the majority of the church has done a HORRIBLE job of training in Bible study. People need to be taught proper exposition, which means literally exposing the true meaning. This happens through reading verses in context, and comparing scripture with scripture, not just picking one or two verses out and twisting them to say whatever you want.

some Christians (no longer all) believe that one and all knowledge is contained in the Bible, the answer to each and each and every question, you only pick to attraction to close the position to look. They experience they could tutor any case with a scriptural quote because, after all, who can question the Bible or disagree with it? yet no longer all of us experience that way. And in listening to those who believe the Bible, I listen distinctive scriptures that i think were twisted out of their unique meaning purely to tutor a element. Plus the Bible is done of ambiguities, inconsistencies, and downright contradictions. And Biblical literalists are frequently putting forward 'Yeah, those 2 scriptures disagree, yet it truly is the coolest one, you could purely ignore about the different one.' i became presented up Jewish and there is a wide distinction contained in the way Jews and fundamentalist Christians look on the Bible. in case you ask a fundamentalist minister some deep, weighty question he will element your nostril to a particular passage and allow you to understand 'it truly is what it potential. there is no warfare of words, there is no ambiguity, no determination of perspectives, only one meaning, and we don't have any determination yet to believe it.' yet in case you ask an similar question of a Jewish rabbi he will scratch his head. "properly, Moses Maimonides contained in the 10th century stated so and so. Rabbi Hillel contained in the 12th century stated such and such. Thomas Aquinas stated so and so. bypass living house and picture about it and ascertain for your self.' Now do not get me incorrect. i love the Bible purely on the point of literature, in spite of the indisputable fact that i do not imagine it became written or instantly inspired by technique of God. It has some good suggestion in it, some large insights. in spite of the indisputable fact that it doesn't have the answer to each and each and every question. it is the knowledge of the ancients, and they were very wise in a great number of procedures, yet they lived in a distinct international, a distinct time. We no longer believe that one and all ailment is led to by technique of demons and evil spirits, or that women are not almost as good as adult males, or that slavery is God's will.

The Bible is interpreted different ways and everyone is human and makes mistakes or misunderstandings. Some people view the Bible as completely figurative. That is hardly the case and people often take scripture into their own hands and twist it to fit their views, rather than obey God.

There are SO MANY versions of the Bible now, people all read different words.
Plus, sometimes it can be interepreted differently by each person.
But that's a big reason why I don't intertwine myself with any religion, because the Bible is suppose to be "the direct word of God" yet it's been changed so many times over the years.

The literal sense of the Word can be twisted in every direction and keep those who don't love the Word on the outside of interpretation. Think about it. Do you know anyone like Daniel or Joseph who can interpret all parables, dreams and visions?
