A full blown panic attack can make you feel very frightened even though there is nothing to frighten you. Your heart rate increases. You may sweat. You may feel short of breath or like you might faint. It isn;t nice. Sometimes if you talk to someone or do a normal activity(like washing the dishes) it may go away. If you have these you should see your MD as he can prescribe talk therapy or even medication. Once you recognize that you are getting a panic attack you may be able to avert it.

It feels different for everyone, but for myself i felt my heart beat faster, my breathing become irregular and an overwhelming sense of felling unwell. That is the scary part for me, feeling so strange and just plain awful, especially because it was my first one and i did not know what was happening to me. This may not work for other people, but when a first sense that feeling of unwellness, I take a slow deep breath and for me it keeps it for escalating into a full blown panic attack. If you feel you may have experienced ask your doctor for his advise

Wonderful little scene in the old movie The Graduate. Dustin Hoffman is being seduced by the neighbor woman (Joan Crawford), old enough to be his mother,. Suddenly, MR Robinson comes home. The camera fairly spins--zoom to the door, original view then--zoom again to the door, and again, and again. Everything goes fast, fast, and faster. You feel trapped, or pursued, or both. The walls feeling like closing in, things seem to go so fast while other things go paradoxically too slow.
I've had it happen a couple of times to me. Close your eyes for a moment, take a breath, hold it, and see again where things are. (Except if you are driving, then you better hope to steer yourself to the shoulder or come to a full stop).

Yes. When I had my panic attacks, I felt like I was hyperventilating. I couldn't talk and I shook. But it's different for everyone, are you having panic attacks? I also got dizzy.

Well, they can be different for all people, but usually they involve an overwhelming feeling of anxiety and nervousness, and you might breathe fast and your heart races and you can sweat and shake. It's no fun, and if you think you had one, you can talk to your doctor to see if there is an underlying cause. Good luck!

I think they feel a bit different for different people, but in every case, you get short of breath and feel like you are not going to be able to breathe anymore, and, of course, in every case, you're terrified. I have a friend who feels like she's drowning. I feel like the walls are closing in on me. You learn to wait it out and take slow deep breaths, and speak to yourself, tell yourself that it will pass.
