If there was a big bang, and the big crunch, and then again a big bang, etc..., do we also restart our lives just the same and I mean identical? Do we always do the same mistakes, choices, decisions?
Is that why we feel De ja vue?

Hey, no matter what anyone says, about 12 billion years ago everything we are, from energy to matter, burst into existence. How or why I don't know. The point is that everything that makes us who we are originated there and has "evolved" or has otherwise been "organized" over the past 12 billion years. We now turn together, look back, and are smart enough to see our origins. The universe therefore (for we are the stuff of the universe) is self-aware. I've been around for billions of years, and some form of me will be for billions more. God or nature will dictate it to be so.

(BTW, the universe is expanding at an ever-increasing rate, with no recoil in sight. The old re-compression theories have been proved false ..... at least as far as we can understand the universe at this point.)

Time is one with space and matter, so the big crunch and the big bang are "aeternal" there is no begining and no end, no time sequence, its al a maleable unity, so technically the now is the future and the past at the same time, only our senses can't perceive it

its what hawkings calls "the psychological arrow of time"

There hasn't been a big crunch! According to all the lastest data that won't happen. Our universe will keep expanding WAY beyond our GGGGrandchilrens lives. So why worry? :-)=

Why would you think that it does the exact same thing every time? If you had a cup with a trillion dice in it would you expect it to always be the same each time you threw the dice?

i honestly think we do evolve as we grow... i think we may die and yet become reborn. for everything that dies something or someone is born. its called the cycle of life and that goes for the universe also
