It is never a good idea and should always be forbidden by the school administration. When one person has power over the other the relationship will never work.
The student looses having a teacher who will treat them fairly and objectively, not just give them an easy "A". It is also unfair to the rest of the class. In this aspect, the teacher is no longer performing their job.
The student should transfer to another class. Or, hold off on the relationship until after the school term is over.

In high school definitely - that's usually illegal!!! Even if it's a 23 year old teacher and an 18 year old student. That teacher is in a power position over that student. Same in college - if you're the teacher you should NEVER have a relationship with one of YOUR students. However, I don't think I see a huge deal with a professor in a different department having a relationship. It actually happens more than you would think.

It doesn't matter what level of education it's inappropriate. In high school it's morally wrong and the teacher should be fired, no questions asked. In college it's not morally wrong but the student and teacher are not equals in this setting and if something goes wrong the student is usually the one to be penalized. A relationship should always be between people who hold equal power, that's not true with students and teachers.

Depends on what grade of school they're in, the age of the teachers, the marriage status of the teacher and the genders of the two people. But it's genearlly forbidden in all grades, including college. And maybe it should be, because if a teacher and lover were to be seen togehter in a class room, they'd be giving the other studens some unspoken ideas.

Yes, considering that the teacher has a moral ascendancy over the student. A teacher is supposed to be a role model to the students. How can the students look upon a teacher who is involved with a student in a relationship.

For high school it's not a question of should. Teachers get fired and lose their careers. Almost always. Period. To get in a relationship really undermines what the teacher/student relationshiop. But many famous people have married their students.
For college I don't think there are rules. But it can lead to problems... Sexual harrassment? Says the TA about her advisor: "He didn't give me a good assignment because I wouldn't put out, and here's the proof we had had a relationship..." My mother almost married her TA, so who knows?
Live and let live I guess. But high school relationships are illegal and against the school rules and statutory rape.

Absolutely, most certainly in high school and in college it would be better for the 2 people to wait until the teacher/student relationship was over. It's just not ethical.

I dated a high school student teacher when I was a senior in HS. We were excellent friends for years after I graduated. He never got a job in that district, though. Guess why? They should be forbidden if in HS. In college, if over 18 and NOT in your class, then I guess its ok.

First, that's no longer allowed. by employing regulation. that's taboo. second, any instructor that oversteps that mark has thoroughly betrayed that student, the trust between instructor / student and the trust the mum and dad had contained in the device. third, it may sound cool to you presently, yet psychologically conversing it may reason vast harm, as you've someone of trust betray trust, you'll understand what I propose once you've children your self. And ultimately, there are not many woman instructors that are drawn to hormone raging young ones with little to grant except eco-friendly sex. The very idea makes me snigger... in case you imagine forbidden sex between instructors and scholars is exciting, then coaching is definitely no longer the career for you!
