Get a bicycle or skate board. Really though speaking from experience and raising 3 kids and buying used cars you absolutely do not go for any one type of car you go for the best bargain . Do you want the cutest car that constantly needs repairs and who will pay for that ?????? Or do want a good reliable car that you can take on short trips and not worry. Go for the bargain and be happy with the best deal what ever it is. Both of my daughters learned this hard way and wanted a cool car and got it but when it broke down they wished they had the best bargain that would still be running rather than the broken down cool car that was waiting on repairs . Don't learn the hard way. If there is not someone in your family who knows cars then pay a mechanic $25 to go over it and you are more likely to find your best deal from a private owner than a used car dealer. I know . any questions go to my profile and contact me . One more time you are better off with a car that will be maintenance free for 3 years than a cool car that starts needing repairs in 6 months . Any questions contact me. You can get a good reliable car in that price range . By the way you have a generous mom. More so than most.I hope you appreciate her. Wow that was a long answer. sorry but I just don't like to hard working Americans waist their money the goverment steals enough of it that we don't need to throw it away.

That money limits how cute you can go, but you may be able to find a VW Beetle for the higher number.
Other cars to consider that have cuteness factors would be a VW Cabrio, VW Golf, Pontiac Sunfire, Geo (Chevy) Tracker, or Dodge Neon. Out of all those, I would say the VW Cabrio is the cutest, and can be easily found in that price range.
It is also safe, reliable, and well made, for the most part. (Any used car could be less reliable depending upon how it was driven)

Prehaps a honda crx, mitsubishi lancer, honda prelude, ford KA, toyota corolla, they are some good examples of good small cars. Obviously if you want to spend between 3500-7000 you would choose a car in the 90's, newer cars equal more money. Keep in mind that you dont want anything too powerful as insurance will cost alot since the driver is under 21. Anyways check out some of those cars that i mentioned above. cheers and good luck

Congragulations! Thats great! In my opinion a nice small car for you would be, a new bug, eclips, truck, jeep, honda, and toyota. These manufactures all provide small cars. It really depends on what you want. You need to shop around , A LOT, because you might want one car, and then you see another, then you want that one, there are so many places to go and cars to see, this will be a special day, don't ruin it by buying the first car you
see.Take you time and write down the amount for each car and where you saw it followed by a telephone number. You'll deserve it!

If you want a car that is a boy magnet, get an old mustang. It's in your price range and if you get a brake booster kit, it's really driveable and the insurance is cheap. If you want something newer, look for a Mitsubishi Sypder convertible. The insurance will be expensive though. (One daughter went with a '66 Mustang and one with an '02 Spyder.)

Depends on what you want...
You could get an older Honda, Nissan, or Toyota
Or if you really wanted a newer car, I would suggest a Dodge Neon, Chevy Cavalier, or a Kia.
They are all cute. Hondas, Nissans and Toyotas all hold their resale value really well.
