and any time but the morning? I know that I just have to learn to love mornings, because half of all opportunities and occasions are at that time. Also, note, that I'm no good without my daily coffee injection. Has anyone made the transition successfully?

I'm making the transition too, and doing it slowly. I would say try to get up fifteen minutes earlier each day for however many days until you're up when you want to be. Then get up at this time WITH NO EXCUSES AND NO FAILING for 21 days. They say that's how long it takes to form a habit. After that it should be easier for you to wake up. Also, if it's convenient, head by a local coffee shop and read the paper. Seeing other morning people will help you out too. Good luck!

I am traditionally a night person, ever since high school, and thru college. Then I got a graveyard shift job, making it worse. But, once I landed a quasi normal daytime job, I began to realize that there is a lot more time to spend during the day doing what I want to do before or after work...thus prompting me to get up earlier and enjoy the day. I would rather enjoy 18-19 hours of a day than to sleep for 12 of it. It didn't take long to get used to, and I can still stay up late!

Yes it can be done the older you get the better you get at it. Or that is what I found out. I use to work 9am to 1:30 Pm then go to a job at 2:30 to 11PM then club till 3PM on week days. then I got married and got a first shift job after a year. It took some time but it can be done.

Im still adjusting..... Its really not an easy task, but, at the first of the year, I joined a gym, and I get up by 6:15am, and I am there by 7:30am..... Do my workouts, and I am home by 9am..... I get my first caffeine "injection" and things are fine!

Mornings are great though, you can accomplish more in your day, I think...

So, keep at it, you'll adjust.... eventually.

I would say 50/50. Being a night owl never leaves. Have fun being a partier, but still enjoy the morning, hocus pocus, who knows man.

This is a great question. I have been "forced" into it by different jobs and school requirements. But there is definitely a genetic component.

absolutely. It should take somewhere between 1 and three months for the body to readjust, but you have to do it *every* day - don't backslide on the weekends.
