You can go ahead and peel it off, it will fall off on it's own anyway. Just be careful not to peel the stuff that isn't quite ready to come off. By some Aquaphor (you can get it at your local pharmacy/drugstore) and put it on your skin in the affected areas right before you go to bed. Put it on fairly generously. It might feel a little funny, but in the long run, you skin will be a lot healthier. Good luck.

OUCH!!! That had to be at least a second-degree burn. I hope, if the burn was extensive, that you saw a doctor.
If your burn is already peeling, then the dead skin is coming off. Only pull off the parts that are already loose!!! If any of it is still "clinging", then you should leave it there to protect the new skin growing beneath it. Do not pop any blisters.
You may or may not scar. There is nothing you can do about that at this point. Your best defense was offense: you should have used sunscreen!
You might try rubbing some vitamin E oil onto the burned areas. That may help a little. Next time, use sunblock!

A bad sunburn can be considered a first degree burn. Cooler bath temperature will help soothe your skin. Apply A good moisturizer. Now that you have allowed yourself to burn so badly, please realize that 3 bad sunburns can significantly increase your chances for skin cancer. Use a sunblock that protects against UVA and UVB rays with zinc oxide. Not all sun blocks/screens are created equal. Apply generously every 20 minutes even on cloudy days. You won't scar from a sun burn. But you can significantly damage your skin so that in the future, wrinkles and even skin tone may be a problem sooner than later. Be kind to your body. You're its best friend. The skin will slough off whether you pick at it or not. Be safe. Be wise.

Dont forcefully peel it off, it could damage the tissue underneath and you'll scar.
I've found that taking HOT [80-90 degree tempature] showers will hurt like hell but your skin takes in the moisture better. And taking cold showers can cause skin cancer when you have a sunburn.
Also, put unscented lotion on it, aloe vera works.
Some people say that rubbing the aloe vera plant leaves works too [my boyfriends grandmother does it to this day] and so far I've seen results.
Drink ALOT of water and try to avoid softdrinks and other overly sugared drinks.
If you have acne medicine {like proactive} rub the healing lotion {step 3} onto your face, it helps it heal faster and keeps bacteria out.
To dull the pain:
asprin before bed helps

you need to lather up in lotion. If you peel it and it's still red then it's not ready to come off yet. I know cause I had 2nd degree burns on my shoulders from sunburn and now I have scars. It will come off when it's ready. Also if you have aloe vera gel, put it in the fridge. It feels so much better when it's cold. Take Tylenol as well. That helps with pain.

It will probably scar. Your skin is burned, like a pig when you roast it. The tan is the burnt skin. I got a really bad sunburn over 5 years ago, and I still have tan lines from it. You should talk to a dermatologist about it. Also, to kill the pain, take a milk bath, or rub it with a cotton swab with vinegar. And aloe to keep the skin soft and moist, which will help keep it from scarring.

The peeling is just getting rid of the dead skin. You will still be tan once the redness goes away. You won't scar and to help, I would put on any kind of lotion that has vitamin E in it or just pure vitamin E oil, you can buy it at the grocery store. That'll help alot.

It's not that bad if you peel your skin, but it will leave a scar for a little while. I think it's better if you use a sunburn relief cream or some cream like that.

You scorched the top layer of your skin. The bottom looks pink because its closer to blood and muscle underneath. Just keep it clean. It is new skin and will look normal soon enough, but it wont be all nice and tan like you hoped.
