When an accident causes a hellacious backup, having sat parked on the interstate staring at the rear end of the same car for what seems like forever, do you find yourself not having any sympathy whatsoever for the people involved in the accident?
Or is it just me?

Actually I have sympathy for the people in the accident, especially if it is a fatal one.
What I dont like is the amount of idiots that make the problem worse by gawking and holding up the traffic even more.
And with the question that you asked and the way you say you feel about people that are in a bad situation.
I say this, Should you ever be in a situation like that while they are cutting you out of the car remember how you voiced this and all the times you could not have cared less about a fellow human being. A**hole

Depending on how big the back up, yes I can see myself being less than sympathetic to anyone in that accident. I have been in a worse traffic jam, there's 1 exit for my college with 1 light controlling that exit traffic. I've see traffic backed up to almost 35 miles away. You'd think that they'd some how help that traffic along somehow. Learned to pay the $75 a night to go to school early.

I have no sympathy for them no matter how long I sit in their traffic jam. But I will tell you this: If it is a long traffic jam, I want to see carnage and destruction. I truly want them to pay for their wreck with pain and suffering. I want everyone in the traffic jam to sue the people involved in the wreck for time lost at work, inconvenience, extra fuel cost, missed appointments, missed job interviews, and every other bad thing that happens as a result of their abject stupidity. I'll bet you a hundred bucks that 90 percent of the wrecks on the freeway where I live are rear-enders. Those are the people who piss me off the most. They are the ones I want to see in financial and physical pain as a result of their actions.

As a truck driver somebody gave me the choice of killing them or jack knifing the truck and sliding the long trailer across both traffic lanes of the interstate where nobody could get through. I chose to jacknife the truck. Of course the truck was damaged and couldn't move. As time went on and the cops were making their reports and while waiting on the big wrecker truck to come and get me, I remember looking at that long backup of cars that were strecthed for miles,and thinking how I would gladly trade places with one of those cars or trucks sitting in that back up.

I'm not so sure about that. But I do find myself hating all the A-wipes who slow down to stare. These are the S-heads that cause the traffic to move like faeces in the colon of an Atkins-dieter. I really hate it when I'm hungry...that makes me rather irritable. Thankfully my I can ring my friends on my mobile and complain at them.

I think it's just you. I can understand your frustration from being stuck in traffic. But you should be sympathetic to the people in the accident. It could be you one day. Or someone you love.

I hope they're dead so that we can clear the roadway already.
If they're still alive they may wander around confused and get in the way even more. If they're dead we can just shove 'em to the side of the road with a snow plow.

Never. I always think to myself that I didn't realize how lucky I was.....sitting/complaining in traffic when others have been potentially hurt.

well, it's not me. Usually I sit there and get angry UNTIL I find out that it is a tragic accident then I feel guilty for having been angry.
