You either get it, or you dont. Maybe knowing what you are praying for would help us help you.

I prayed for something very easy for others to do but usually fail on doing. I would still think that it is the most powerful sign that I have ever experienced in my life. I really put my faith into some really specific answer and this was it. It relates to the time when Lazarus died and Jesus waited four days before coming awake him from the dead. It largely happened in just five minutes, because it seemed that it was not going to happen because of what was in the way until I saw a godly change in it. If you are praying for something- remember- praying is also depositing a seed and a seed starts off small and then grows out the abundant harvest. Your job in your situation and in all good situations of everyone is to be faithful- II Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight)
and James 2:17-26 Faith is dead without its works.

There are people who pray for the same things for years. Be faithful in your prayers and pray from the heart. God answers all prayers. Sometimes the answer is tangible. Sometimes the timing isn't what you would expect. Sometimes the answer is a change in your own heart. Sometimes it gets answered and you don't even know it.
If you trust in God, you'll just pray and not worry about the answer.
Be faithful and remember. Jesus died for you and me. No matter what, always go back to the cross.

G-d answers prays. For example he can answer a prayer with a No meaning that job you wanted all this time might not be the one so he will make sure you don't get it. Don't get mad because another one will come around a job that is. He just feels this job is not the right for you. Next, sometimes pray takes a long time to answer. G-d doesn't view time like we do. Secondly, if he likes your pray he answer it with a yes, by giving you what your prayed for.

You know, the Jewish leaders were always looking for signs. They constantly asked Jesus what sign he would give them to prove something. And they would ask him right after he performed a miracle. As if that was not enough.
Consider this:
Jesus didn't heal everyone at the pool of Bethesda. Just one man. Why not everyone? He was making a point.
I've had many prayers go unanswered the way I wanted them answered. It doesn't mean he didn't answer them, it just meant that the answer was "No." He knows best.

Here's an idea: try WORKING for what you want as your special request rather than asking a fictional being that has never given anything to anyone to grant your request...
The amount of energy believers waste on praying for things, and then trying to interpret the "signs" to see if they got what they asked for or not just amazes me. If they would put that much energy into working towards their goals, I can guarantee they'd achieve a lot more of them than trying to get some god to grant them their wish...

About 4 months ago I truly turned my life over to God. I used to pray in the past and nothing would happen, but very since my awaking 4 months ago, everything has changed. My attitude, my life, my thoughts, my heart...Now when I pray, I really pray as in I know God is listening without a doubt.
Anyhow, I'll pray in confusion on an issue (like what action to take, what choice to make, or WHY?) and I usually receive an answer in various ways.
For example, I've had dreams that were vivid and answered a question; I received a call from someone I hadn't spoke to before and they answered the question I asked God (AND i never told them my question); I found an answer on the first page I opened in the bible after a prayer. I happen to walk in room and meet someone for the first time and they answered a prayer from God; Another one...Last month in between jobs (BTW- I don't pray for $, don't need to God knows what we need) I had people calling me offering me $ for no payback and I never asked them for help...they told me it was put in their heart to help me; I could on with many other prayers and ways God answered them.
One thing I believe in regarding prayers, God reveals what we need to know and what he knows we can handle. Another thing, God loves us to trust him and not lose faith. He may have given you a sign you have missed, but in due time you'll understand.
I know God is great, but one will never experience his Greatness with true belief & complete trust in him.

God is ALWAYS there-----
I think sometimes, if the prayer is for ourselves, that God uses HIS timing. We may get what we want in some other way than what we expect. That's why, when you pray, you look for the answer right away, because it may be coming from someone else, or in a circumstance.
What you prayed for might not be good for you. God is gracious, and He loves you so much, and He wants to keep you from harm and from evil, so, I think, that you can ALWAYS depend on God's timing to be JUST RIGHT.

I don't think it is if you notice 'all' the signs.... but how you interpret the signs you do notice... it's all a matter of how you percieve things...
*and in comment to the first answer - that's really rude - and yes God does have time for everyone's little prayer... you should stop acting like you know what inconveniences God.

God is subtle, but not malicious, as Einstein said. He does not speak so that we cannot hear Him. Usually, it is the sort of thing He starts saying that we eventually cannot ignore, that we wind up finally recognizing as His voice which was speaking to us all along. He does not make us wait and beg for our daily bread. But He does insist on obedience. If you become aware that He wants you to do something, do it.

If God is going to answer your question then He will give you your request, but it will be when you need it. Keep praying. God bless
