It seems that both are bad for your health. As you know cigarettes cause many health problems, none of which have a cure as far as I know. Smoking weed leads to using other drugs that will kill you one way or another. Also the answer regarding weed may still be somewhat unanswerable since all of the statistics may not be in. People that do smoke weed are the guinea pigs for it. People that do either are really dying to quit, so why start.

There is a large body of scientific research showing that cigarettes are bad for your health. There is so little unbiased research done on the health effects of marijuana because of the laws against it, that there is really no anwser to your question. Both will give you cancer and make you die. So I suppose, they are really equally bad, death being the outcome. However, once you have cancer you will want to smoke weed to ease your pain. This is a philosophy question not a health question.

it all depends on your opinion or prejudged ideas on the matter.; weed does have its dangers but it also a few good things about it too it makes you hungry, horny, you get a little rest&relaxation; these so terrible... cigarettes has very litle high and the cancer.. weed is not as additive as cigs by any comparison. if weed was legal for adults ; alot of people would'nt drink alcohol. yes we also know about the help for glaucoma and the appetite for people going thru cancer treatment too.....you personally have to make your decision.. kids SHOULD NOT smoke weed until they're grown up as adults

as far as i know there has been no proven studies that show that weed kills people. cigarettes = according to the cdc,
Tobacco-Related Mortality
Fact sheet
February 2004

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Overall Mortality
Tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States.1 Cigarette smoking causes an estimated 440,000 deaths, or about 1 of every 5 deaths, each year.2,3 This estimate includes 35,000 deaths from secondhand smoke exposure.2

Cigarette smoking kills an estimated 264,000 men and 178,000 women in the United States each year.2

More deaths are caused each year by tobacco use than by all deaths from human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), illegal drug use, alcohol use, motor vehicle injuries, suicides, and murders combined.2,4

On average, adults who smoke cigarettes die 13–14 years earlier than nonsmokers.2

Based on current cigarette smoking patterns, an estimated 25 million Americans who are alive today will die prematurely from smoking-related illnesses, including 5 million people younger than 18.5

weed=Has marijuana caused any deaths?
General Reference (not clearly pro or con)

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's report Mortality Data from the Drug Abuse Warning Network, 2001 (released in 2003) stated:

"[M]arijuana is rarely the only drug involved in a drug abuse death. Thus ... the proportion of marijuana-induced cases labeled as 'One drug' (i.e., marijuana only) will be zero or nearly zero."

Cigarettes if only a couple are smoked daily. If you keep smoking as many as you can in a day then weed since too much THC can kill you.

what's worse for your health shooting yourself in the leg or the arm?

why- because both ways your body winds up injured and unhealthy. Sure if you shot yourself in the leg once a week and shot yourself in the arm a pack o' bullets a day I might worry a bit more about the arm. But in the end your shot, does it really matter beyond that?

Both are bad; at least ciggies have filters. Some birth defects have been attributed to pot. THC stays in your blood for a long time, too (weeks), so you could get denied a job based on a bad test and that could be bad for your health.
