When you trust them completely, and they trust you completely.
And you would live without them, rather than hurt them.

I dont think that there is really any answer to that question. I think that it is just something that you know. I myself had thought that I had been in love before and then when I really found love I knew that I had been wrong all the time. Before I found love I cared deeply for other people and thats why I thought that it was love. Once I found it for real it made every other relationship I was in look like nothing. I have been in love with the same person for 5 years now and that feeling that I got from crush on someone never went away with him. I still get butterflies everytime Im around him. I would do anything for him and I would sacrifice anything I have for him.
I dont know if that helps any but I hope it does.

When you put his wants ahead of yours and he puts your wants ahead of his, then you know it is True Love.
Example:
If he wants to go to a ball game and you want to go to a movie but he decides to go to the movie with you instead then that is love from his side.
If you decide to go to the ball game with him instead of to the movie then that is love from your side.
If both these things happen at the same time and no body goes anywhere then that is TRUE LOVE.
True Love always puts the other person ahead of self.

You don't. You examine your feelings, all the info and communication you have had with the person and the signals that you have. Then you take that leap of faith...
