What to do with broken rosaries?

At the Catholic school I work at, I tossed out a bag of broken rosaries - it was okay, because it's my job...

But even though I think the rosary is idol worship, what do you who are catholics do with broken rosaries?

Rosaries are blessed. As with any blessed object, there is a respectful way of removing it. I am surprise that no one told you especially since it was your job.

Rosary is a prayer that is done with rosary beads. It is the rosary beads you are tossing. Since you are at a Catholic school, ask for a reference about Catholic belief--Jesus, Mary, the saints, etc.

you should give them to the priest. Things like that which have been blessed need to be buried in a Catholic Cemetary.
