i am not asian, but i live in korea now and i have eaten dog.
its probably one of the most tender meats i have ever eaten. it has a strong taste, but something that doesnt really turn you off of it. In Korea they have many ways of preparing it, but i had it in a soup. you wouldnt even have known it was dog. Pork spine soup is prepared the same way. just a broth with veggies and the meater part of the dog.
would i have it again? probably.
cant give you an answer about the cat though.

being of Asian descent has not afforded me the experience of eating dog, nor cat. I did have a friend in Afganistan that sampled flesh of the canine, though.
by the way, wonderbread, what's your favourite part of the hog that goes into your scruuuumptious hot dog?

my brother-in-law was stationed in korea recently(he is in the army) and tried dog while he was over there. he got it in a mixed dish with rice and seasonings and said it tasted pretty good--very tender and juicy.
i don't think i'd ever try it though...just doesn't seem like it would be good. :-/

for your information, not all asians eat dog and cat.
i happen to be asian and never touched it.
