Both are big threats to the world. Both want to change the status quo both regionally and in the world (and for you anti-USA nuts...the world order they want to have will be worse than what the USA or even China wants/has now). We already have the question of China's rising dominance and the big threat of Islamic terrorism...we dont need two more mad monkeys threatening to launch nukes and commit horrendous deeds. Preferably a firm diplomatic solution (one which will deal harshly with any backstabbing by these nations) should be reached...but we (the world) must be ready for any eventuality including war.

I think the thing everyone is overlooking is who is behind these two countries, letting them get away with all the stuff they do. China and Russia continually veto resolutions proposing sanctions in the U.N. against both countries like a mother protecting her child. Why do those two countries condone their threatening behavior?
Because N. Korea has no way of reaching us with a missle yet....key word yet, they would first attack Japan or S. Korea. Who by themselves could take on the communist.
However Iran has the opportunity to become a second Iraq. Who knows if we could fight two wars like that at the same time? But, the head religous guy there isn't stupid. So, who knows what to expect from him?
I agree with Locke, China is going to be our biggest problem in the future.

N. Korea... and WOW I'll provide reasons... they are closer... they HAVE THE BOMB NOW... they have a leader that has killed many more people and is crazier... they are working on delivery systems that can reach us...
how is a country that "may" one day do all the bad things that N. Korea has already done, be a larger threat?
but I agree with jimbomatic58 overall... Osama is 10 times the threat of Iran and N. Korea combined...

Iran has more power and is essentially crazier. Plus they control a lot of oil. But China is the real threat to our future.
