I think the first part to burn off is the chemical "visual purple" after that the retina becomes inflamed (sun burn on the inside of your eye.) After that the pinpoint where the sun is focused (like burning ants on the sidewalk with a magnifying glass) is destroyed. Some pain may cause you to adjust your line of sight and the burning point is changed.

Staring at the sun damages the visual cells in the part of the retina that allows us to see fine detail. In another words: dont do it.

Most likely you will eventually suffer eye damage. You certainly don't want that. Why take a chance?

You can burn your eyes (retina), which can cause blindness. Wear good shades. If you wear crappy sunglasses, the pupil would expand (shade) and absorb all of the UVA and UVB =>get burned. So, if you buy glasses, buy good ones.
