do taebo.. you are working ur abs muscles the whole time and believe me i've seen results! my abs and back and that stubborn crease of skin thats on ur back, at ur sides under ur arm -it just goes away. some of the tapes do ground ab work, but most of the standing exersices work the abs as well. but in general if ur hurting ur neck and shoulder u dont have good form. keep looking at the ceiling when doing cruches and use ur abs not ur arms to pull ur self up, id get a workout abs tape to help. most ppl waste their time doing crunches and situps at home bc they are doing too many in an incorrect form. hope this helped

Crunches only work the upper abs, so you should only do a small motion of pushing your back down and squeezing the muscle. Don't do situps, they really work your hip and thigh muscles more than your abs. to work the mid and lower abs you should do knee raises while suspended from a high bar or do them with your torso hanging upside-down and lift up to horizontal position. The big ball thing is a good way to work the obliques and all the muscles, but not as good at isolating certain parts.

Buy a Balance Ball in a sporting store. You blow the ball up with a hand pump and you buy a workout video to show you how to use the balance ball. It's great for abs especially if you have a bad back.

To start off with the ball, you can try sitting on it and holdout your arms like a T-shape and raise one knee at one time. This will work your abs and give you balance.

You may think this is for a woman but I know a few martial art guys that use this and swear by it.

little known facts for you:

sit ups, stomach crunch's, etc will not get you a six pack

everyone has a naturally defined 6 pack covered in layers of fat, eliminate the fat (even a little will ocver it up) and you reveal a perfect 6 pack evertime

stomach exercises mearly help to lose the fat and build up the muscle behind the natural 6 pack making it look more defined and larger

Try using one of those big ball things--everything on those uses your abs. They are a lot of fun, too. Also, pilates and yoga work out that part of your body pretty well. Good luck on getting in shape.

Leg extensions (you lay down face up and raise both your legs as high as possible then bring them back down and repeat) although those might hurt your tailbone as well. There are a lot of machines in the gym that involve the abs and you can sit down and do them there.

First, always walk with your tummy sucked in, and do Core Exercises, they are highly effective, aeasy, won't hurt your neck.
My trainer taught me that when you are doing crunches, you have to look at a spot in the ceiling and keep your eyes there. Chin perpendicular to the floor, like you are a marionet whose chin is tied to the ceiling with strings. Check

Get a partner. Lay on your back with your feet straight up in the air. Have your partner stand over you and push your feet to the floor. You provide resistance and then bring your feet back up each time. Mix it up also, have them push your feet left, right and straight to work different muscle groups in your abdomen.

If alone. Lay on your back and lift your feet 6-10 inches off the ground. Hold.

You need to lower your body fat percentage if you want your abs to show. So really you need to diet, and exorsize. Lower your calorie intake to what you just need, i dont know the exact formula so just multipy your weight times 10 and keep it at that. Then with exorsize you dont add in. That SHOULD do it, but dont expect over night reasults.

Oh, I love this one!!!!!

Get in the push up position with your arms extended (the up position) ... I use a pair of free weights to reduce strain on my wrists.

bring your knee into your chest one at a time. Just do as many as you can stand.

You can really feel it the next day if you don't stretch properly.
