They are lactobacillus which is a kind of bacteria that is beneficial to your gastroinestinal system. Usually we are are born with these bacteria in our guts. But as time goes on, and also due to anti-biotics medication, they grow less and less. Consuming the live and active cultures, we restore the amount of lactobacillus in our system.
It helps in our digestion and prevent gastroinstentinal problems like diarrhoea and keeps our guts healthy.

They help to cure and prevent yeast infections. I eat a thing of Yoplait every mornng and I haven't caught a case of athletes foot in over fifteen years. I highly recommend it from a personal standpoint. My girlfriend just said to say that it works for her too.
