Operation Wetba*k was a 1954 project of the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service to remove illegal immigrants, primarily Mexican – known by the derogatory term "wetbacks" – from the southwestern United States.
Burgeoning numbers of these immigrants, discovered by the Border Patrol in the early 1950s, prompted INS Commissioner Gen. Joseph Swing to initiate the project.
The operation coordinated the Border Patrol and state and local police agencies to mount an aggressive crackdown, going as far as police sweeps of Mexican-American neighborhoods and random stops and ID checks of "Mexican-looking" people in a region with many Native Americans and native Hispanics.

Illegal alien is not racist, it is a legal term. Illegal immigrant supporters use it themselves when they are trying to add legal benefits for illegal immigrants.
******* is a perjorative term for people who sneak across the Rio Grande, and I have never known it to be applied to anyone but a Hispanic person.
However Hispanic is not a race either. It is an artificial ethnic group within the Caucasian race.
There are terms we avoid for other reasons than because they are 'racist'. I'm pretty sure we all know them when we hear them.

Illegal aliens can be anything from Asian, Latin American, African, European, and little green men from Mars or beyond. It is simply someone "who ain't from around here" and is here in violation of border control laws.
*******, however, can be construed as racist, sorry. It has a pretty plain, though distinctly dated (as in it is an old term), that essentially only means Mexican agricultural workers. It is one of those terms such as n-----, which is a slur for *****, an archaic word for black. It is kept alive mostly by blacks calling blacks n------. *******, however, like gringo, are terms that are mostly kept alive by old movies.

I use the term ILLEGAL alien, because that is EXACTLY what they are!!!! ILLEGAL,because they sneaked into the country and are trespassers./and alien because they do not belong here!!! And i STILL get called a "racist" and a "bigot" by the ILLEGALS and their SUPPORTERS!!! I've never called anyone a "wet back" or a "****" or any of those other derogatory terms, and i still have people insulting me!!! It has nothing to do with name calling, and EVERYTHING to do with them being WRONG!!!

using the term "*******" that you could not even spell right shows ignorance and racism. The term "illegal alien" is politically correct.
Evidently Yahoo feels the term wet, etc to be offensive and put in the asterisks.

Wetbacks, kikes, spicks, *******, wops, slopes... ALL of these are derrogatory terms used to degrade and belittle a specific race/group of people... As such they are ALL racist, and are unacceptable to most people.

Don't you think it's rather ironic that these same people who oppose the use of terms such as these are the first ones to say...REDNECK, TRAILOR TRASH, INBRED, and other names in their extensive vocabulary?
