i use to have a friend like that and we are no longer friends
she was insecure and self-concious and tried to put me down to build her own self esteem.
but you just dont need to subject yourself to it.
that person has issues that they need to deal with.
it does get old after awhile.
you can always tell them that its not funny but that may cause more problems. so just ignore them for awhile and see if they get the hint.
if they ask why the cold shoulder, then tell them what's up.

To begin, always be virtuous. If you are being the best person you can be, noone will believe slander about you.
Let them know you are offended. You don't need to be around people like that. If they won't respect you then stop being around this person.
If it really gets bad file a case of harrassment and get a restraining order. Be sure you write everything down. Dates, comments, exact words. Do not be bullied. The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.
Don't resort to physical violence unless attacked. A medical law suit, court or jail just arn't worth it.

If they are your friend, let them know that their "jokes" DO offend you. If they are not your friend (which is probably the case as friends do not intentionally hurt each other) then you can either ignore them and walk away and know deep down inside they are just insecure and realize this is their sad and pathetic way of dealing with their insecurity.

Laugh at the jokes. Sometimes people who are not happy with themselves will try to belittle others to make themselves feel better. Just show them you do not care, and laugh at them, then make a joke of something they do.

Find jokes to aim at them and make them feel just as bad, use your skills to work against the enemy...show them what it is like to feel bad due to inappropriate jokes. You can find innumerable sites online with jokes that will help you.

That is so passive aggressive. I have had people do that to me, and sometimes it helps to give them a funny look and ask, "what do you mean by that?" Put them on the spot.
Or sometimes I just say - "Wow that is way harsh - asshole", and then laugh and say you were just kidding.
Sometimes you just have to say bite me and kick them in the nuts.

Next time he makes a joke, make sure both of you are near a group of people and laugh along with him when he tells the punchline. Then yell out,"Oh(whatever his name is) you're so funny....smelling."

If they say just joking, say to them "do you see me laughing?" or if they say no offense, tell them "too late". If that doesn't work either give them a taste of their own medicine or just walk away.
