Just tell the bank not to cash your check and then you wont have to worry about it

Yes, tell them that. The salesman may not like it and will try to get you to change your mind but the quicker you are about backing out, the quicker he can go on to the next customer. Call up the dealership and give him your reason. Stand firm. Whatever you do, don't take delivery and especially don't drive the car off the lot. Off the lot and your toast. Remember, at the end of the day, your just a number to the dealership. Believe me, I sell new cars.

While you could be sued for specific performance, if you haven't taken delivery yet most dealers will just tear it up and forget about you.

If EVERYTHING is signed and sealed and you're just waiting for the dealer to get your tags from the DMV, it's too late; you now own the vehicle. If you tell them to forget about it, they'll just smile and hand you the keys. It's now between you and the bank.

If you signed a contract, you are obligated to buy the car. The dealer could sue to enforce the contract.

I think you're locked in at this point. They will strongly resist giving money back. Can you BLAME them?

Probably not if you signed all the contracts and paper work.
