It isn't clever to have the plates on the table in the event that they could desire to hold them to the buffet. And, I dont have self belief it is going to make the tables prettier. If I have been you, i could only bypass with what's clever, what all buffets do: Set the glasses, serviette, and silverware on the tables. in specific situations the serviette is desperate the place the plate could be, and that seems very great. while you're doing favors, you additionally can placed the choose the place the plate could be. enable the travelers get the plates on the initiating of the buffet line. The Mexican stations sound somewhat good via the way.

Do a web search using the terms 'buffet table setting." The back of my Better Homes and Gardens cookbook has pictures. You don't set the table, but you stack the plates and arrange the silverware and napkins (they can be wrapped together) at one end of the table so the guests can pick them up before they select their food. Use a separate table for beverages, cups, glasses, ice. And you can even have a separate table or counter area for desserts. Have a great party.

What you put on the tables is dependent upon how the guests will be served. If you wish, you may go ahead and do a traditional place setting without the plates: napkin, flatware (fork, knife, spoon or whatever is needed), drinking glass for water or tea (if guests will be getting their own drink from a bar or drink station, skip the glass).
The general rule is that the less the guest has to carry from the buffet to the table, the better. It can be difficult to carry a plate w/ food, silverware, napkin and sometimes a handbag, jacket or wrap, etc.
You can also put placecards with guests' names on them at the entry to the reception and they can put their own place card at their seat at the table. Best Wishes!

You should have the glasses on the tables and silverware. Unless you are doin this 'redneck' style, then have plastic stuff waiting at the end of the table, like plastic forks stuff like that.

most buffet dinners are nice, and easy to clean up.

Make sure you also have napkins on the table too, salt and pepper, and if you need, parmasan cheese and spice mix.

If you are having rolls, put butter at the table also

you prolly don't need to set the table with plates... since it's a buffet.

you could put the place setting at each table... and also put the wedding favor in front of the setting... And/or you could put menu cards. Maybe a menu card propper up on each side of the table. That would be nice so people will know what kinds of foods are available so they don't miss anything.

You should have your silverware, napkins, drinking glasses, etc on the table...everything but the plates, which will be by the buffet. However, if you're not using regular dishes then put the plasticware up by the buffet too.
