I don't know already. He is a nice guy and I feel bad asking for the money back. But I really don't feel it's worth it

$80/ session-That is pretty expensive. But what did you expect after one session? I mean, the first couple are more for sizing you up than anything else-determining what you goals are, what your abilities are, etc. That being said, the first one or two should really be free just for that reason. Most of the time they offer some kind of introductory consultation and then jack you for the big money later. If you aren't getting anything out of it, let him know and he'll definitely step it up. Thing is, they are liable if you keel over or something so they generally try to take it easy at first

I'd explain to him the situation and maybe give him another session or two. It sounds like you know what you are doing and he might've assumed you were a newbie.

Working with a trainer is a two-way street. If he isn't helping you, you should let him know -- that's his job and he wants you to be happy so you can refer him to other clients and me a repeat customer.

If after 2 or 3 sessions he hasn't gotten the message, then I'd ask for the money back (and pay him for the services he did render).

I agree more or less but would add that sometimes people may have a bad day or feel a little shy at first. Or, perhaps he needed a little more time to understand your needs.

In sports I find that people need time to get into a routine. So, I would suggest that you talk to him and let him know your concerns. Then, if he is honest, he will probably say that he really can't help you or else he will try harder to give you the individual attention that you deserve.

ask for the money back, tell him he can keep the fee for the one session.
