First of all I just went through this last year...me and my boyfriend were together five years and lived together for 2 and a half of them...so I definitely know where you are coming from.
Let me just say that there is no time limit/amt for being sad...that is a personal issue that you will resolve in time...but one mistake I made is to pretend that I wasn't sad...don't EVER pretend to be happy when you are not..it is natural to grieve for the end of a relationship-especially a live in one.
I am with my new boyfriend now, who I love more than ever, but I am still saddened by the fact that my last relationship ended (or rather the way it ended).
My biggest piece of advice to you is-try to look for the positive things out of the situation (even though it's probably hard to do at this point)
and just remember---it's okay to be sad...eventually the sadness goes away...
The best thing I've ever heard and that is definitely true is this
"Time heals hearts"

(As with the rest of my answers, please excuse the length, but read...) Whatever...other answers that think you should get over it quickly. YOU take your time. You will know when it is the right time to move on. Just don't ponder on it too long. When you get depressed over all of the good times that you miss or all of the good times that you think that you may have missed, find something that will distract your thoughts. Remember that you are a good person and that there is someone out there for you that will love you just the way that you are.

What i can write is to deal with it in a positive way and give your self time to heal. We all deal with breakups in relationships in different ways.
In time you will be back on your feet and meet some one else as that is what life is all about. The pain and the hurt is some thing that will take time to heal.

That all depends on you. Depends on how long it will take you to get over the situation. All you can do is try to get back out there.
