Need info on how or where to look to be BONDED to cut hair in a persons home, people who are shutins.

Well, you'll have to get the exact details on exactly what kind of bond you need, the form you need it issued on, and who the obligee is, for the entity demanding the bond.

But most independent insurance agents can get you a bond, although due to premium size (it should run you about $125 for a three year bond) there isn't any profit margin in it, and they might not want to bother. Because of that, you're best off checking with the agent who writes your auto and/or homeowners insurance first, and your business liability (you should have a beautician's policy with professional liability - that would run you about $600 a year). Expect that the bonding company will want to see a certificate of insurance on your business insurance, prior to issuing the bond.

Look up "Surety Bonds" in the Yellow Pages, or talk to your insurance agent. Most insurance companies do surety bonds as well. You're going to need general liability insurance as well, so you might as well get your insurance agent in on the act early.

Don't forget licensing as well. Both professional licenses and business licenses. You'll need that all sorted out before a bond will be issued.
