I don't know what "believers" you are talking about, but reality has a way of smacking us right in the face at times, and I am totally here with ya! One can float for awhile, but reality is reality. There is no such thing as a easy ride thru this life, I've had some hard times and have had the Lord be with me thru them, but I definitely am in "reality!"
I agree with you about giving our lives meaning, it is up to us to make the most of it right now......

Reality is a very subjective and personal matter since one's view of reality might differ greatly from anothers. I'm neither religious or non-believer but I am spiritual and prefer to go the path of self discovery since there are universal truths that transcend both religion or any belief perpetuated by one. I accept all teachings from science having studied the sciences for many years but also accept spirituality for benefit's sake unless we can truly prove what reality is beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Anyone who believes anything is going to question reality, no matter if it is god or rain or the brain in their head. It isn't in the content of the belief but the actual fact that there is any belief to begin with. Reality is what you make of it through beliefs. Get rid of beliefs and all you have is a blank slate and no one to see it because in order to feel that you exist, you need somthing starting back at you. Do you really exist? Believing we exist is in effect existence. Whether it is "reality" is another question.

It's not that our time here isn't "real", indeed our time here is meant to allow us to make the "Ultimate decision". We know that our time here is just a puff of smoke compared to the total picture. That's exactly what causes us to search for the truth. How miserable existence would be without HOPE and FAITH. Was your Great, great grandfathers life meaningless? How do you know? Do you know what his favorite color, or food was? What was his favorite past-time? Is all that he was lost? Christians are given a promise that it's not! There is more, and it's awesome!

Although there truly are many realities; there truly is but one reality.
Do you know your body is an illusion? It is not even solid. Hold a flashlight to the palm of your hand... does not the light shine right through.

They would prefer to seek an alternative meaning because they lack the mental strength and intelligence to function in the world without some higher purpose involved in their life.

the problem with reality is that it is percieved by animal senses that are limited.
it is true that no two people percieve the same thing in the same way.
we are a mentally deranged species that cannot use it's whole brain.
to realize any strengths people possess, we must first admit the weaknesses.

It seems the ones that do not believe in God are the ones that are questioning reality.

Every one is human, just because we are true believers in God, that does not stop our humanity! we all know that it is up to God, and our selves to be able to survive in this world!
