I have two cats and have bought many many venitian blinds and everytime my cats seem to chew them up until they are hanging on by a string. I was wondering if there are any kind of miniblinds for windows out there that they will not tear up?

i have two cats that used to do this they would chew on the blinds or shove them arround the edges looked like someone had taken a carving knife to them but what i did is when the cat is in the sill pull the blinds up about half way and keep them there it seems like the only reason my cats were doing it is cause they wanted a free path to hours of window sitting if they still keep chewing raise it up higher most cats wont jump just to get the blinds you can always close them when you get home or need it closed of course you could always get the double mesh ones where it has the mini blind feel but the strips are surrounded in front and back with a semi transparent gauze or you could get wooden blinds but the cats might still chew on those it will just take longer for them to look as bad hope that helps a little

Try vertical blinds. Your cats will be able to get their whole bodies through without doing any damage. It worked at my house, and they look so much nicer than the mini blinds.

Anything will do. Just spray your blinds with some kind of citrus juice, like lemon or orange. Your cats won't want to even go near them.

You could try and get a spray from a pet store that is for anti-biting. It tastes really bad and if you spray it on stuff the cats wont chew it.

My cat does this too! Only she messes them up because she is constantly sticking her head thru them to see what going on out side- I HATE THAT... but the wooden blinds are stronger and will endure more abuse.
