From my understanding God is a spirit and the creator of this dimension/universe which is governed by the concepts of space and time. Therefore notions like beginning and end can't really be applied to him because he can exist outside of time.
"from everlasting to everlasting you are God" (Psalm 90:2)

There is a deep seated need to know where you come from, in everyone. Man created many Gods to fill that need. Some religions are new and some are quite old. That is why whatever religion you believe in your heart is right is right. We all need to believe in some supreme being, whatever form that being takes. For some reason as humans we find it hard to except the theory of the "Big Bang" theory of creation. We need to have someone to pray to or to blame. All religion is based on faith, and everyone should have some.

You've just pointed out where naturalism breaks down. If you were to define where God came from, you would need to define the origin of that thing. Then, you would need to define the origin of the origin of that thing. This is called an "infinite regress", for which cannot be explained by science because for every state you have to define the prior state (cause and effect), thus contradicting naturalism which states everything can be explained by science.
God is the uncaused cause. There must be one to reach our current state or otherwise our current state does not exist and I am not actually writing this message...

Yea thats funny. he he. There is no closure... There never will be! Becuase of that question it will just never end ever. If you really want to know who your god is wouldn't that be the planet, the creator? So why need to go back further your not going to get a extra bonus of bread sticks by finding out who your *god's* god is.

If you ask the question, Who made the Universe, then you must ask, who made the creator of the Universe. And so on and so on. If the Universe is proved to have no actual "beginning", that the Universe is in an infinite series of contractions and expansions. Then there is no beginning and to ask a question "Who created the Universe" is meaningless.

The Bible states that in the beginning was God, He lives outside of time and if we try to think of infinity with a finite mind, then it isn't going to work.

Take a look around....there is no god external.....god is a concept within. Like governments, religion was created by people to control society.....look at how well both have worked....

God exists in eternity, in timelessness. God existed before time, and he exists outside of time. Since he is infinite there exists nothing greater to create him
