When you shave, it bluntly cuts off the ends of the hairs, making them appear thicker than they really are. Also consider what the shaving does to your skin! You are running metal across yourself, which can iirritate even the roughest skin. As far as I know and have read, it doesn't increase the amount of hair you get, it just appears to. If you are worried about the appearance of it, talk to a skin care specialist or a cosmetologist. Shaving might not be good for you and you might try waxing. There are also creams and lotions you can buy to reduce the appearance of stubble by taking care of you skin and hair. Good luck!

from what i understand shaving does not make the hair darker or thicker the only reason it seems that way is because the root of the hair is always darker than the end or tip of the hair and when you shave the hair the newely cut hair does appear darker at first until it has grown out a little bit it only lightens when exposed to the elements sun wear and tear and you might think that the hair is thicker because it will feel that way to you but that also has to do with it being cut you are feeling a flatter surface vs the more rounded surface of a worn down hair but like i said earlier that will go away as the hair grows out so basically shaving does not actually increase darkness or texture but with hair growth it does grow at a slightly faster rate to break the surface of the skin then returns to your bodys regular rate of hair growth

I shouldnt increase the hair but it makes it darker and thicker. If you get a good razor/use a good shaving cream/and shave on a daily bases than it shouldnt be too noticible (oh and kind of a womens trick: long pants also work great to hide hair when you havent shaved in a while lol)

shaving does make the hair thicker, you ever realize when u were little before shaving legs or whatever the hair was soft and now if you dont shave you grow back black thick pricklies. waxing grows back but not thicker. and my hair stylist told me that after a while of waxing it pulls out the hair folicole(dont know how to spell it) and makes it less like to grow back the more you get waxed.

no no n0o .its a myth that shaving does this it may appear that way because you remove all hair when you shave and the fine hair takes longer to grow .as opposed to the established hair .we constantly loose hair and it re grows plus hair is different thicknesses on different pars of the body so the answer is a big zero

It depends. If you shave with a razor (meaning not an electric razor but one with a traditional safety or, if you're really hard core about it, a straight razor), then yes.
