The one I take-effexor-doesn't make me happy. It just makes me not be sad. True happiness can only come from within yourself. No one or no thing can make anyone happy.

I've been depressed for about ten years. What makes me happy? Nothing comes to mind at the moment. Antidepressants do not make people happy, they make people anti-depressed. In other words, they turn depressed people into zombies. I don't take 'em, personally, but I know a guy who knows a guy who takes 'em. The key to happiness is not being depressed. Simple as that.

I guess it depend on how you look at it. But if any anti depressent worked and took away the depression - wouldn't that make you happier?

1.) you'll have the back the previous joy in life
and
2.)I should think you would be happy at not being depressed anymore.

So you have 2 reasons to be happier.

If people are telling you the meds dont' work - perhaps they aren't on the right meds yet. Not every med is meant for every person.

You also need to ask Jesus into your life. He will help you with this. Notice I said "HELP" You can't sit there and make God do all the work.

happy, jetery, you name it. Look at most of the white folks you work with.
If they are too spirited or always seem to need to be doing something
They are on anti depressants
trust me I think it was made for the middle aged white woman

I know that was racist but hey I call it how I see it

It realeses a chemical in your brain that drs think is not being realese this makes you a little hyper active should I say. Most people on these drugs are space cadets in work and out but somehow they can come to work high. No fair

Antidepressants make people zombies. They make it so the person can feel no emotion whatsoever. I think only a small minority of people on these drugs actually need them. The key to happiness is purpose.

No. Antidepressants level you off. If you're sad, they bring you up to an even level. If you are a happy person overall, they bring you down to the same even level. They make people drones.

Anti-depressants just add a chemical to the brain that the depression supresses. It doesn't make you "happy" but it stops you from being clinically depressed.

Happiness comes from enjoying what you have, even if you don't have much.

Sometimes, i had a friend who was on anti deprssants and went she ran out she was put in the aslyum for 2 weeks so i wouldn't suggest it. I would say the key to happiness is to accept your self and like yourself for who you are and don't care what anybody says be youself and don't think for a minute you have to act like some one else to fit in look for a new hobby or pastime or splur on some thing youve wanted to have for a while!
