When our kittens were 5 weeks old they were already eating solid kitten food and only kitten food. You can start putting out kitten food by the time they're 4 weeks old as long as they still have momma cat as an option.
We got our kittens at 5 weeks old and they were barely old enough to be away from their mother. Some kittens may take 6 to 8 weeks. But there's no reason you can't start offering them the kitten food early on as long as they have some teeth.

Basically, they can start having cat food whenever they start eating it. We just had a litter of kittens and they began eating cat food right around 5-6 weeks. One was just given away at six weeks and is doing very well at its new home, but remember that all kittens will be a little bit different. Good luck.

You can actually start them on kitten food at 3-4 weeks of age, and by 6-8 weeks old they should be fully weaned. Feed them 4 times a day or just leave dry food down for them.

Just got a 6 week old kitten and it loves soft canned food.
It started using the litter box right away too. it's like a natural thing with them.

Our vet told us to give our kittens kitten food until they turned one. As far as giving them to other owners, you probably should wait until they are weaned. If they already are, then it's probably ok to do that now

Abt 6~8 weeks old. Get some RC babycat food and soaked them in warm water to make it mushsy like. Leave it for them. They will eat it if they are ready.

Anytime after it is 6 - 8 weeks old.
Start it off with cat food that's been made soupy with water or a saltless broth.
