FMLA is a very complicated law and on the surface it does sound like FMLA would be in order for FMLA. However, in order to qualify for FMLA, you need to work for an employer of a certain size. You also need to have worked for them for a full year. There are a lot of other things that need to be met.

FMLA only says that you can be out of work for up to 12 weeks per year (unpaid by the way). You benefits will continue at that time. They are saving your 'position' if you will. However, if at the end of 12 weeks you cannot come back to work, they do not have to keep your job.

You can have intermittent FMLA a few days here and there when your MS acts up. Talk to your HR Dept (if you have one), or read up on the law to find out things that are particular to you.

I am not able to answer your question but I was wondering if you have ever heard of LDN? The best treatment for MS is LDN, hands down. It is the only medication that can stop MS in its tracks! No other medication can do that. It is very cheap, has almost no side effects, it is easy to take since it comes in a capsule and although it does not cure MS it prevents further progression. Please check it out! Tens of thousands of people are taking it worldwide and the number is growing every day!

Yes. MS is considered to be a serious health condition which would be covered under FMLA.

I believe you have to be off work for a specific period of time. I was able to file it for my maternity leave of 6 weeks...I do know you'd need to have documentation from your family doctor or specialist on why you're taking off the time and have an estimated time for when you expect to be out of work. If the time is uncertain...have you looked into looking for disability benefits with the Social Security Administration? Hope this helps you. Good luck to you.
