They say, the mind collapses from within, certain elements which are required to fullfill the creation of tissues go back to zero stage, if it were to happen with all and entire human population, same would be the result. Just the chemical balance totally gone haywire - permanently. Like you see in blind people, almost the same characteristics develop. Hope though this relates to neuro science and medicine, perhaps you got the picture. Most are blessed. Thank God.

I have always wondered that too. I thought maybe it's a lost gene. Like a remnant of the missing link in humans popping up every once in a while. Or a more primitive species of human that melted into modern human populations long ago. It could be analogous to how Chimpanzees ( to us) look alike.

I believe you are referring to Down's Syndrome. This is a chromosomal mutation (non disjunction of the 23rd chromosome, i believe) that not only causes abnormal mental development, but also creates a certain "look".
Not all retarded people have Down's Syndrome, however.

If your referring to persons with Down's Syndrome, it's caused by a genetic mutation in the persons DNA (also called
Trisomy-21)!

There are different syndromes caused the chromosomal error. Like Down's syndrome, Angel syndrome. They have bad hearts, extra large tongues.

those are just signs of downs syndrom, short toes, slanty eyes, probably God made it so we know them when we see them, and watch out for them, they can truelly teach us many things, they are happy about everything
