Slice a lemon into thin circles, wrap it around the top of the strands you want lightened and wipe it from root to tip. Do this once a day for two weeks and you should see a nice and natural difference...it also smells nice.

Use a half of cup of vinegar with a half of cup of warm water... use this every time you wash your hair as the last rinse... then rinse it out with a last rinse of warm water. over time your hair will lighten... it is the acid in the vinegar and the lemon juice that causes hair to lighten and it is like getting a high-light at the shop... but it will take continuous applications and about a month to really see a big difference. Vinegar is also a clarifying agent... on the hair, to keep the hair shaft clean and free of the oils and gels in volumnizing shampoos that will build up on the scalp and the hair shaft... It help the hair to hold a curl too... Good luck!

My hair went from jet black to a light chestnut brown using a vinegar rinse after each washing. If you can put up with the smell, it works. This has the added benefit of cutting the film left from the shampoo, while softening the hair. Then I use a creme rinse. It adds a step, but cuts out the need for a clarifying shampoo every once in a while. Good luck.

If you're a sunbather, you can put lemon juice in your hair while you're out in the sun - it'll bring out your natural blonde highlights, but won't be a big change. I haven't done it in years, but I do remember it sort of dried out my hair a little bit afterwards.
I found that some of the color enhancing shampoos can work. I've used Aveda Cammomile, and it punched up the blonde a little bit.

Lemon Juice mix with a little water and spray on your hair. Sit in the sun for a couple hours and your hair will be lighter.

Use lemon or orange juice in your hair and lay out in the sun. Wash it out after you have done that for 30 minutes or longer. Do it till you get what you want. My friend has done it and it has worked for her. For red heads cranberry juice will do the trick. You can also buy products that will do the trick for you. Check www.loreal.com or others. Good luck!

Lemon juice and sit in the sun. It may just add to the natural ones you already have. It doesn't smell that weird and it's a great hairspray.

Lemon juice or peroxide. You may need a hot oil treatment after awhile though. Tends to dry out the hair.
