Dots? -- Do you mean "floaters" -- if so they aren't much to worry about. But since you have seen them for 1 yr -- please go see an eye doctor. Don't mess with your vision -- better to be save then sorry.

What, like when you blink? Is it like a sun spot? I've had that before but it didn't last more than a few hours and I was concerned.

If you've been seeing them for a year, I'd ask your doctor and even a pharmasist for some advise. If you don't want to do that, find some health 800 number to call in your area.

I don't know anything about optomitry but maybe it's catarax. That's a film that devolopes over the eye and you go blind. You should get it looked at.

I see 'dots' when I get up too fast and am about to faint or are you referring to seeing dots whenever you look at anything?

If it is a vision problem, my dad had a similar problem and he saw his eye doctor. His case was serious and they had to operate right away because it could have permanently affected his vision (he had them in one eye for a year or so and the other eye for about 6 months). I recommend going to see an eye doctor asap to find out if it is serious and what you can do about it.

well, that depends.
are they black dots that you cant see through? then you need to go see an eye doctor that can determin if your partially blind or not. your states blind commission might be able to help with that doctor bill.
are the dots flashy white but go away quickly? do they appear when you look at a sudden flash of light? thats normal.

but you still might want to have your eyes checked out just in case. if it turns out you are partially blind you may contact me for more support. i am partially blind myself and have been since 2001.

I've always been able to blindly stair off into the sky and see what looks like stuff you would see in a microscope but its just debri floating across the lens of the eye. Is this what your talking about?

when I was pregnant I started seeing dots when I developed Toxemia which gives you high blood pressure. Have you had your blood pressure checked? You really should check with a doctor.

If it's 'floaters'--they are small hairs inside your eye that will eventually dissipate. They are caused by some type of trauma, usually to the head. If it's spots, it could be blood pressure or alcohol.

yes you should see an eye Dr. your retina might be
starting to detach & causing you to see dots

if it's not that then go to your family Dr. & let him/her
know about your problem, your health is never something to put on hold

hope it's nothing serious & best of luck
