Look for an AMERICAN HARVEST unit like I have! A lot of accessories, good price and warranty and comes with some great recipes. You have to pay for all those RONCO commercials by buying their products that are sub-standard. I can appreciate the other persons recommendation for RONCO though my choice is through experience.

My Mom has one and uses it ALL THE TIME.. She LOVES it. I'm not sure what kind it is, but any reputable kitchen appliance department should be able to steer you right. My Mom hasn't made jerky, but she makes lots of yummy dried fruits to snack on and they are delicious and healthy! She made apple chips that people think she added sugar to, but that's just how sweet they are when the moisture is removed.

My dad does, and he uses it to make jerky and trail mix. He likes it, but I'm not sure what brand it is. One of the ones that stacks and has like a fan in the bottom.

i lov mine..... buy one that is what U need... i use mine mostly fer garlic an onions...... poatoes too..... stuff that doesn't freeze real good......
