remember when cling film first came out, we used to put it in the microwave but then we found that it was the wrong type and was canceragenic so they manufactured a microwave safe cling film.

Well they need to do the same for all areas where plastic, nylon, polythene etc gets hot.
There is alot of cancer in this world but there is an awful lot more plastic.

Yes, plasticisers can leach out of the materials and into foods. Particularily fatty foods.

It's generally not so much that the plastics cause cancers, but the the phenol compound for making the 'plasticisers' is almost identical to the female hormone oestrogene in molecular terms. this can & has caused reduced sperm counts in mice, & humans, and totally reversed the sexual designation of fish & frogs where pollutants are found in high concentrations.

It's when plastics are burnt or become VERY hot that hydrocarbons are released - these are a group of well known carcinogens.

So yes, you do have a point.

I am a firm believer that genetics plays an ultimate role in cancer. There are people who can smoke two packs of cigarettes a day and never get cancer but someone else gets cancer from smoking a few times. If your prone to get cancer the only way to try and beat it is to really be careful of your diet and environment surroundings. Keep your PH level alkaline since cancer can not grow in an alkaline body and cut out sugar because it feeds the tumors. Also regular checkups by your doctor is also a good preventive method since most cancers are fatal from not detecting them early on.

There is a theory going around that material is transferred to food when it is heated up in microwave ovens. This may be true and precautions should be taken like going back to heating things up in microwave safe containers. Just don't go and jump off a building there is no certainty of getting cancer for this reason.
