I don't. I'd rather a guy know the absolute blaring truth from day one, even the things that may not be so great about me first. No point in covering them up if they're only gonna find out later on down the track when it may be too late then.

At the beginning if a relationship it is normal for both parties to hold some cards close to their chest. This is not meant to decieve it is a way to allow the other person to get to know them a little before they lay all their cards on the table.
If there is something in particular that bothers you for instance whether she has children or not, then simply ask it on one of the first dates.
If something is really important to you it is okay to ask it up front. It is true some women may think you are shallow etc, however if an issue is really important to you then the fact that it is important shows some depth.
If it is later in the relationship, it is possible that the woman is trying to please you, not bother you with things, is scared of your reaction, is already sure you will leave if you know and doesnt want you to leave.
The best way to find out why a woman didn't tell you something is to ask that woman.

Women find the need to be clingy and overdramatic. Women take secrets and house them. Mostly because women are incredibly vindictive. Women like watching men be confused and suffer.

maybe there scared or embarrassed or there feel stupid talking about it or they are use to men looking at the issue as unimportant.
