I'm closer to my dad, even when it comes to relationship problems. I can ask him for advice without having to hear female emotions in his reasoning.
We got really close last September when I was in the hospital for almost a week. He took care of me and stayed there the whole time; my mom only visited me once. During that time I found out what a Daddy's girl I can be......even though he can drive me crazy sometimes!

When I was a kid I was really close to my mom - nowadays I'm closer to my dad but not really close to either of them.

I have a wonderful dad but I think I can open up to my mom more and I don't know why lol

I love both of them from the bottom of my heart and with all my heart. But I would have to say it is my dad that I am the closes to. I am now living with my parents to take care of them both as they both have had strokes now. I am watching my dad going down with each and every passing day now. I don't see him making it much longer and I am trying really hard to get myself ready for the day that I will no longer have him with me.

Dad - flat out. My father is great. Always been there for me. Non judging or critical. Very Socratic in his raising of me.
Mom well she's a woman and you never know what hormone is kicking on any particular day.

That's a hard one. I'm extremely close to both, but in different ways. I'm fortunate enough to be able to talk openly and honestly with both.
With my mom, we can talk & joke about ANYTHING under the sun. She knows more about my day to day activities and lifestyle. But that comes with a hefty price. She holds things over my head, uses my own info against me, fights with me like she's my sister.
With my dad, he knows less about my daily life, but he shows his love unconditionally, never showing disappointment, never expecting anything in return, etc...
