Vomiting can be caused by many illnesses. Some are more common in older cats and some in younger cats. There isn't enough information to even begin to guess what's going on with your kitty. Antifreeze poisoning, foreign body blocking the intestines, kitty parvovirus (panleukopenia), cancer, kidney failure, heartworm disease, bacterial infections, intestinal parasites (worms), food allergy, diet changes, and about two dozen other illnesses will cause vomiting.
Make sure your kitty has plenty of water and take it to the vet with a complete history of the kitty (vaccination history, diet, age, breed, household habits, etc.) to get a better diagnosis.

Let the cat eat some grass, that will cause more vomiting, but will most likely make the stuff that is causing the vomiting now go away. Cats should be able to eat grass often anyway, it is good for them and their digestive track.

it still might be a hair ball that hasn't come up yet. do you have ny plants around you place? kitty may have eaten some and certain plants are poisonous to cats. may have swallowed something small but big enough to cause problems in the esophegus or stomach. i would take kitty to the vet to be checked out and to rule out anything serious.

If your cat is throwing up daily, or frequently since this afternoon, please take her to a vet. Sometimes they get icky stomachs and throw up from time to time, but anytime it's frequent or consistent -- and it's not hairballs -- there's something going on that needs to be checked out.
Good luck.
