I agree w/ u!!! We as Christians should not attack nonbelievers. Yes I know an eye, for an eye and yes it was true to the justice system in the Old Testament. In the New Testament Christ told us to turn the other cheek. As Christians we will be under attack, we were told that in the New Testament. The world hates those who are not of it. We as Christians are in the world, yes, but we are not OF the world, big difference. When ever I post a question on answers about "religion" and "spirituality" I expect to come up against attack, because 'Satin comes to steel, kill, and destroy' all who are living out a Christian life. Yes there are intolerant Christians, but that is not how we all are. I really wish that nonbelievers would stop labeling Christian's as intolerant, hateful, and so fourth, but we will always be labeled by nonbelievers. I believe also that we need to stop labeling them and win them to Christ by showing His love, not by persuasive words, or by "beating them over the head w/ the Bible" Remember that all they had in the time of the New Testament was the Old Testament documents, and Paul and John, and Peter and so fourth didn't have recorded documents until much later in their ministry about Christ and all he had done. Talk to nonbelievers, respect them, kindly share your beliefs and let them ask questions and tell you about there faith, but "stick to your guns," pray for them, show Christ's love in all that you do. also pray that you won't be deceived during your dealings with them. you have to know what you believe first before you "tell someone else what to believe." If u have any more q, feel free to contact me. united we stand divided we fall.
God Bless

Okay now, I have been defending the Christians against the atheists all week and now it is time for me to defend the atheists.
Some christians are no better. The problem with you people si that you are all in a mindset, like a needle stuck in the groove of a record that just plays itself out over and over and over again.
Religion was developed to tear apart what was left of those people who decided to follow Jesus after His death. They were all split and all claming to be the one true way, the right way, the faithful way when in actuality it is ALL THE DAMN SAME right below the surface. Religion is a lie, not the message it teaces, Jesus started to reconcile and the world couldent have that, The rabbi's and the theologians and the scribes and pharesees couldent have unity and organized religion, became the monster it is today as a kind of political tactic to do exactly what you all do... Pick to death the details and keep your hearts and minds closed to the possibilities of everything.
TO the extent and the extreme of the atheistic principal. You can't blame them considering nor should you. It is a sad condition caused by the idealisim of religion in all of its inconsistencies.
Jesus Christ never taught anything wishy washy, strange or contradictory. He was a man who spoke true axioms and life lessons on the outskirts of every town he went to because he was not welcomed or believed in many cases.... Even hated.
If anyone with half a brain ever decided to get up one day and research the original aramaic words of Christ himself, they would find a truth and a universal message of morality and love and revision to all of the strange and fabulous ways that made faith so hard in the old testament.
No one ever does that though... It is a bad mitton game lobbying and hurling insults and insinuations back and forth when you are ALL WRONG. Jesus was a teacher... He was a rabbi and was called so by his students. Right or wrong, listen or don't believe or don't. But never, no one should EVER claim to hold the right to discredit what another man has their faith in as a human being or challenge another mans lack there of. All of it is a choice and all of it is both right and wrong all at the same damn time. DEAL WITH IT and leave each other the hell alone!

"If we did not love them we would not be trying to show them the right way. "
It is this mentality that gets "believers" attacked. Atheists and other "non believers" use historic reference, scientific evidence and plain old common sense to combat the highly contradictory and debatable "word of god"-because you assume that your opinion is the absolute truth, you feel attacked when these things are shown to you. Because most Christians are set in their belief system, it will always seem like an attack.
Also, most people refer to Christianity and other religions generally, from a worldwide perspective. This is why intolerance and hate come in; religion has caused more suffering and war that any thing else, all in the name of god. While on an individual level religion may help you grow and learn to an extent, the ends do not justify the means when millions of people around the world are dying for your cause.
Pardon us if we do not think that blind faith, an constantly editted book written by humans and a supernatural creator entity stand anywhere near the truth.

Yes, we've all been attacked. What did you expect in a forum like this? There have been well-thought-out objections too. Make sure you know the difference. Some people feel like anyone who disagrees with them is attacking them, but this is not always the case.
Personally I'd rather be where the sinners are, so I can shine a little gospel light in their lives. This seems to be a good place to do this a little at a time.

I preferred to think of the Christian that physically are really been attacked. We are blessed that yet the computer has not open the mouth and try to swallow us. Well, I know what you mean.
But pay no attention to that!
See, I go to those websites where Christian are really been attacked, I even try to send a letter of encouragement to them. I saw one Christian that because of Preaching the gospel in China, they spill gasoline on him and burned him alive. Another one for also preaching the Good news of Jesus Christ, they buried him upside down his head on the ground with cement and his feet on air, and he was alive.
That is real torture.
We are going through nothing.

Speaking as an athiest with slimmer tolerance for preaching than most believers probably deserve, I usually try to leave Christians alone in their own topics, but when someone answers a question about the behavior of someone's pet dog with some inane comment about God, I might tear into them a bit.
Peace.

That is your opinion not all.
We were all given free will. As a non believer of god and christ that the christian bible teaches I am a little offended. I am not so offended though as to be rude and disrespectfull. I think alot of it has to do with the way people percieve their own faith. Perhaps the are feeling guilty from some imagined sin. Then again I don't go around trying to convert others to be non christian. I don't try to pound my ideas into someones head. I state my opinion and they can take and leave what they want from it. One question. If God created us in his image, we are all creaters. For do we not create life. Then by the same token aren't we all gods. That create our own happiness, our own reality.

i replaced into informed i'm narrow minded and ignorant to position self assurance in Christ as my Lord and Savior. I genuinely were requested, "How does it sense to carry close you should tell your toddler they position self assurance in an imaginary chum?" i think my ideas is open adequate to have an indefinite quantity of religion, i do not attack or look down on someone for no matter if or not they chosen to believe interior an same as I do or in any respect, for that remember. I understand others and go away it as a lot as them to decipher by ability of what and why they believe what they do. Believer or not, an all round "good" individual ought to not decide people in step with their non secular or nonreligious perspectives. I advise, truthfully, why is my beliefs your business enterprise? i'm not attacking you, so why attack me? The movements I genuinely have considered from nonbelievers were "uncontrolled" at situations and then you run throughout the time of a mature individual who can clarify themselves in a non-threatening way and ask questions if want be. i'd not be acceptable as a Christian, yet Jesus died as a thanks to all make blunders and be forgiven for them. some Christians should be hypocritical yet why enable that devour at you? it really is their business enterprise. in case you spend maximum of a even as on a pc so that you'll be able to vent your hate of Christ, what type of life ought to you truthfully be residing?

Hmm, how very blind of you. Turn the question around and ask it again. If you don't believe me, I will happily show you as much evidence of xtian hate and bigotry than you can show me of hate towards your cult. As for that, why are you complaining? HAVE you read the bible....at all???
;)
I just noticed your nick, JESUS IS LOVE.
YOU, my 'friend' are NOT the one to put such a question. YOU have by FAR done YOUR share of hating and baiting!!! I put you almost in the same league as 'whynotaskdon' and 'mainworry'!! Would you like me to post some examples???? I will if you give me permission to, my 'friend'.... YOU, are a hypocrite.(or a schizophrenic...)
2 Hours Later.

I agree. You know, I never answer questions or even read them for that matter if I don't know what they are talking about. I usually stick to what I know and answer questions regarding religion. I have wondered why the non-believers feel they need to put their two cents in with serious questions. Usually done with sarcasm. I know I know, everyone has a right to their own opinions, but come on- the sarcasm could stop - a little.
