If you look at the totals of the numbers, you get 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 so the next one has to be a sum of 13 because 1+2=3, 2+3=5 and 5+8=13.

Looking at the number of digits in the problem, they add up also, 1, 2, 2, 4, 6. So the next number has to be 4+6 digits long giving you a 10 digit number.
