Is sin an invention or is it a label for something that happens? If you murdered someone what word do you want to call it? Not good, not fear, let's call it sin. Would it be better if people had no concept of good and evil, so that anarchy would persist? Rape, murder, stealing, etc would be OK and everyone would do it? There has to be limits. People need to have something inside them that tells them good and evil. Christianity is not some organization made by "a group of people" to control the masses... that just sounds like a bizarre conspiracy theory, nor is it something to just alleviate fears. God and Jesus are real.

Did church leaders invent sin?

It would seem to me, the first person to have a conscience and do something against it invented sin.

Now there's a new one.
The church leadership has been blamed for a lot, and justly so in some cases, but this one isn't the brain storm of a bunch of old men with collars turned backwards.

It's not an invention. It is part of the very nature of all human beings. I would encourage you to read a Bible...God's Word...not man's invention.

Definitely! It is a control tactic they use. If you are doing something that undermines the power these people have (or think they have) then it is considered a sin.
I prefer to believe that God is a God of absolute love; not a God to be feared!

wrong. So you think if people arent told about it then they wont sin? If little Hitler hadnt been told thou shalt not kill he wouldnt have led the Nazis to killing 6 million jews? What about all the people who have no religious upbringing? According to your view, they would be just perfect! Show me this place.

It was to try and convert Pagans to Christianity. They demonized the Pagan beliefs and labeled them as sin.
