The Bible prophesied many things, most of which have come true, many which are coming true now, and a few that are yet to come to be. But events are beginning to move swiftly. Yes, I believe that Jesus will come to take His people home very soon.

All diseases are curable, if they are attended to quickly enough. Viruses are not curable. You are thinking of viruses.
And so what? WArs have been fought all throughout history, and in higher quantity. People say the war in Iraq is worse than Vietnam... do you realize that soldiers in Vietnam had a life expectancy of around 36 seconds? 60,000 American troops were killed in the seven years long war, and we are at 3,000 three and a half years in and you say it is worse? No... nowhere near.

no, I think time will just keep ticking away.
humans will probably live on Earth for another few million years anyway. Not if we really mess it up with nuclear weapons, killing the ozone, higher earth temps, etc. We should be ready for an ice age every 10k years or so. Poles switching maybe. Most species last 4 million years. Humans are almost there. I think we can at least have some of us survive awhile more.

depends what you mean by near.
The end? no, a serious turning point for mankind, most probably yes.
There are some loose global patterns for the last 2-3 centuries big changes happen every 30-50 years. Environmental, technological, social...
pick one :)
Studying history a bit helps to identify them.

The Mayans said that during this time, time will seem to speed up for people. I believe 1980-2012 is called "no-time" in their system. I also heard that the Mayan calender has been miscalculated and that 2012 is actually 2006.

The Bible talks about the end times, and gives us clues as to when this time is near. Most of the things that are mentioned have taken place, so yes, I do believe the end of time is near.

Doomsdayers and others have been predicting the end of the world almost since the beginning of it. Every 100 - 200 years, we need a little population control, so God sees to it that it happens.
