A promise ring can be worn on any finger on the left or right hand, although ring fingers are far preferred. Most often it is the left ring finger, but due to engagement confusion, the right ring finger is finding acceptance in today's world.

The right hand. A promise ring is not an engagement ring, which goes on the left hand, and it is not a wedding ring.
Please, don't take the promise ring as a sign that it's okay to sleep with the person who gave it to you. Sex before marriage is a sin.....no matter how much you want it not to be.

A promise ring should go on the same finger your wedding ring goes on. It is there to let others know you are in a very serious relationship that will someday end in marriage. When you do get married, switch the ring to the left hand, and replace it with the engagement/wedding rings.

The promise ring goes on the left hand, ring finger.
It's a prelude to the engagement..
The promise ring is symbolic of a pledge made between two people. Make sure your intentions are very clear when you give someone any type of ring.
There are several different ways this jewelry can be used other than "pre-engagement".

Well, since a "promise ring" doesn't really mean a whole lot, I guess I would have to say any finger except the left ring finger.
The left ring finger is for REAL commitments, not promises to commit.

Whatever hand she's comfortable with- if your really serious a promise ring - is a promise of engagement to marry- therefore you can where it on the left. But if it happens that it doesn't fit on appropriate fingers- it can be worn on another

Put it on a necklace.
In my opinion: Promise rings are a fake engagement anyway. It's something that guys give to girls to pass the time while they are still too immature to actually think about the future. Sort of a way to shut the girl up for awhile.

I believe it's the right hand. You're not supposed to wear a ring on your left ring finger, it's bad luck until it's your engagement ring.

I'm not 100% but i think it is your left... because you are making a promise to be faithful and wait just like a wedding ring!
