ok, I have been dating this guy for 4 1/2 years and have been engaged for 10 months to him. He loves long flowy hair...I on the other hand love when my hair is short, like to my chin. I was really getting tired of my long hair and said I wanted to cut it...he said to do whatever I wanted....so I cut it....

He;s been away on business for 3 weeks and hasn't seen it yet.

So guys, if your fiance/gf/wife knew you loved long hair and cut hers anyway to make herself happy would you be upset?

P.S. He shaves his head reguardless of the fact that I loved his hair...

upset? no, that wouldn't be the right word or response. disappointed? absolutely. there's nothing wrong with him liking your long hair and wanting you to keep it long, as long as he respects your decision to wear it the way you prefer. me, i prefer long flowing hair as well. if i think it enhances your beauty then i'm going to let you know. the same way i like the curve of your breasts or the color of your eyes or the shape of your pinky toe. whatever it is i like, i like. and it's not fair to fault me for being honest about it (not that you did). it's also not fair to fault me (or him) to encourage you to not change certain things you can control (again, not that you have). there are plenty of reasons why i like long flowing hair but that's a sexy answer for a different question. what are his reasons?

in the end, being together forever (which is usually the plan) allows for many opportunities to compromise... and it doesn't have to be a mutual compromise over the same thing. maybe you grow your hair long for a few months and in that time he uses your moisturizing body wash because you like the way it makes his skin soft for cuddling.

follow-up: haha... too funny. i just saw your response to another question which explained to me why you don't like it when your fiance shaves his head.... "I like F-ck-me hair on a guy.....two-three inches, just enough to grab a hold of...."

have to admit... i'm really turned on by your response. :)

I lived through this one already. I love long hair.. my girlfriend had it, down to her butt almost, and she cut it back to shoulder length. While I miss her long hair I just had to realize that it wasn't the reason I was with her. It wasn't even in the top five.

Upset, yes I was. Did it last? No. I knew she likes her hair this way and it makes her happy so what's the big deal.

Whatever you do don't turn this into a "you shave your head so I cut my hair" argument, that could get ugly. And it's only hair, it grows back....for the most part. Did you donate your hair to "Locks of Love" or some other organization uses the hair to donate wigs to kids with cancer? If you did he really can't get too mad at you.

You know I love a women with the bob style hair cut and I used to love the long flowing hair on a women but the short hair turns me on. I have to say though on some women short hair doesnt work not for me. Some are soo pretty even if they were bald they would look good but thats not the norm.
Sorry for rambeling Im sure he will still love you anyway you cant grow it back out quick now can ya?
O yea I do hate it though when a womens hair is cut like a mans you know like angled in the back and shaved? yuck

I was upset when my wife cut her hair short without letting me know that she wanted it that way. Looking back I should have been more understanding and supported her but I was angry because I love long hair on women and I would always brush her hair when she got out of the shower.

I would let my hair grow if my lady wanted it that way, but people need that change to their appearance to keep them happy sometimes and that's what matters. Being happy with yourself.

It shouldn't be a big deal. I told my gf that I like long straight hair, and she went and cut it and got a perm so that it has curls because that's what she wanted to do. I didn't get upset, just figured it's her head.

Do what you want to do. I doubt he's going to leave you just because you cut your hair. Plus, he said to go ahead and do it. If he really didn't like short hair im sure he would have said something about you cutting it

No, being that he loves already and is going to marry you shouldn't waiver his feelings about b/c of your hair. If he is cool enough (meaning your happiness comes 1st) he will not give you any grief. Don't worry it's only hair. I would think it was cool my girl changed herself for herself. Means she has a sense of self to her ya know.

All good girl.

Dont worry!

wow, ok...its HAIR...whats up with him. He should love you no matter..long or short. The fact is, its YOUR hair and he should respect that your prefer it short. If he hasn't been heard of for 3 weeks, hes not worthy of you....seriously, don't marry him.

hell no, what do I care if its short or long, what do I matter. If a guy stoped loving/linking you becasue you cut your hair, even if he likes it long, dump his ***. youve been together almost 5 years, nothing should get in the way of that.
