Yes, and it is great. Like some of your other responders, I REALLY liked strawberry-rhubarb pie. If you eat rhubarb raw, it is VERY tart, so the amount of sugar added has a profound effect on whether you like it or not. Btw, the leaves are poisonous.

(I got to thinking about this after I clicked send. I was questioning the poison part. Ran across this page. Still haven't confirmed the poison. Anyhow, my mother used to make Rhubarb Crisp (kind of like a cobbler) and Rhubarb pudding, as well. The pudding was great). Here's the page:)

many of the time rhubarb pie is made with somewhat of strawberry. I only like a small quantity of the strawberry as i imagine that could overpower and that i favor the rhubarb style. in many circumstances the tangy style element, relies upon on the kind of rhubarb you're utilising. a chum gave me some very last spring that became splendidly sweet. I made rhubarb sauce for fruit and that i further somewhat contact of Orange. I prepare dinner it somewhat longer and make it into jam. It needs no pectin because it has it personal.i have had different rhubarb it truly is somewhat bitter. i love the sweet type and that i'll ascertain from my chum what type it became so i am going to plant an similar kind of rhubarb.I take my sauce and placed it in freezer jars ad freeze it for the wintry climate . As for pies,in my view i love all my pies chilly. Rhubarb i imagine does style somewhat tangier warmth, a minimum of when I make my sauce it does.

My mother (now long gone) used to make rhubarb all the time, but none of us children ever liked it. She'd try to sneak it into strawberry pies, too (as if we couldn't tell a difference between strawberries and Celery from Mars), which only spoiled the pie, in my opinion.

I think it must be an inborn taste, because, boy, mother tried again and again from an early age to cram that stuff into us, but never with any success.

On a different subject, she couldn't make a decent cheese souffle, either.

It's fantastic, especially home made. Hot with a scoop of ice cream. I have made them with fresh strawberries too and loved it. Rhubarb gets really soft in the pie and has a slight tartness if it's ripe, it's really good. Try it. Nana

Yes - when they sugar the rhubarb it takes on a different taste than it does out of the garden. I love it.

Personally, I find it a bit on the tart side - so if you like tart, you're good!
