if you went to your favorite family owned resturaunt down the street. The cook knows you well enough to know that you like three things more than anything else:hot sausage po'boys, peanut butter, and gummy bears...he also knows that you put whip cream on many deserts...so he combines all four, expecting you to savor every bite. you gulp and look at the thing on your plate...you plan on leaving it there and paying quickly until the cook says, "I spent my whole break making that just for you. I hope you like it." You wonder if you're trapped in a nightmare. All you want to do is burn the sandwich and bury the ashes...but its too late. Your chance to leave came and went quicker than you could say, "ricearoni!" You:

A) chew and swallow...take huge disgusting bites
b) one word: ketchup
c) "can I get this to go?"
d) tell him that it was nice of him to do that but you already ate
e) Ewwww...no thanks!
f) something else.....

d) tell him it was nice of him to do that and it was a great try, but even though you like all of those things individually, you don't have a taste for all them combined. But you thank them for the effort and consideration.

I wouldn't want to be rude, since it seems like a sincere effort to be nice, so e) would not do, but I would not eat it. Nor would I lie and say I liked it because it might spur them to make it for you over and over again and then, you really WOULD be stuck and unable to go back to your favourite restaurant.

F. something else

I would guage how heartbroken the cook would be about it. I could eat most anything if I had to. I would really try to like it and would give it chance. If it was really disgusting I wouldn't eat it though, and would tell the person. Then he would know not to ever make that for anyone again.
